OUR STORY
Three women, one dream, and a table set for everyone.
It began the way all good things do: around a table. Bread being passed, wine being poured, laughter overlapping conversation, and a dozen versions of “you have to try this.” From different paths but shared roots, they came together with a vision, not just to open a restaurant, but to create a space that felt like home.
In the heart of New York’s East Village, that vision became Meama.

A MODERN TAKE ON GEORGIAN FOOD
At its core, Meama is a modern Georgian restaurant, but more than that, it’s a reinterpretation of tradition. Georgian cuisine is one of the oldest in the world, shaped by centuries of culture, hospitality, and bold, comforting flavors.
We honor that foundation while giving it a new perspective.
Ancient recipes meet contemporary technique. Classic dishes like khachapuri and khinkali are reimagined with intention, refined, balanced, and designed for how people dine today. Every detail, from the ingredients to the plating, is considered. The result is food that feels both familiar and entirely new.

GEORGIAN WINE & HOSPITALITY
Georgia is considered the birthplace of wine, with over 8,000 years of winemaking tradition. That history is central to what we do.
Our wine program highlights Georgian wines alongside a curated selection of natural bottles, chosen to complement the food and enhance the experience. It’s not about overwhelming, it’s about discovery, balance, and enjoyment.
